Kanak da sitta is one of our favourite motifs from the Sitta collection, it draws is inspiration from the flora and fauna of the region. It represents the symbol of life in the form of a tree, the design element comes from using a dual colour tone for the primary motif creating an illusion of depth in design. The placemat as seen here celebrates asymmetry in design where the embroidery is placed off-centre to one side in two lines creating a soothing linear element.
